March is Women's History Month, an annual celebration and recognition of women's achievements and contributions to society throughout American history. The 2024 theme for Women's History Month is; “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion” and aims to highlight women who have historically fought for the elimination of discrimination and bias. The following organizations are supporting and recognizing the importance of women's contributions to all facets of American society through education, advocacy, and direct services.

Black History Month was established in 1976 under President Gerald Ford, who encouraged Americans to "seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of Black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.” Following a historic period of activism and community engagement in which cries for racial justice were heard throughout the world, Black History Month presents a unique opportunity to build on the momentum of the racial justice initiatives so many have generously supported. This Fund includes nonprofit organizations that are working diligently to promote economic and social justice for Black Americans and to fight racism and intolerance in the United States. The composition of nonprofits in this fund is subject to change.

International Women's Day (IWD), observed annually on March 8, is a worldwide celebration of women’s achievements. It offers an opportunity to reflect on progress made, to call for change, and to honor acts of courage and determination by women who have helped in moving the needle toward gender parity within their countries and communities. We encourage you to give to this campaign, or to search on Bright Funds for a nonprofit that is helping to create a more just, equitable world. World Water Day, observed on March 22 of each year, raises awareness of the global water and sanitation crisis. Millions of people around the world go without access to safe and clean water sources each day, and several organizations are working tirelessly to make a change. You can make a difference by being more mindful of your own water consumption, doing your part to keep your local water sources clean, participating in local cleanup efforts, and donating to organizations who are doing the critical work to improve clean water access and sanitation procedures.

The Easton Area Community Center offers an 8-week, full day summer camp for the children in the area. We offer them the summer camp at a fraction of the average price compared to the rest of the state, taking into consideration they are coming from low income, and single parent homes. We do this with a heavy reliance on donors and sponsors. The 8-week program cost $2,500 per child, with us charging the families only $400 per child. We count on partnerships with programs in the area, corporate donations, and profit we make with our fundraisers to help cover as much of the cost as we can. Each year the cost is increasing, and those willing to sponsor are fewer and fewer, which makes it an increasingly difficult task.

Your donation will make a real impact on supporting ICAN to continue to focus on: • Building the necessary life-skills youth need to personally be successful • Providing literacy, STEAM education, and homework support to encourage on-track graduation and broad academic success • Exposing students to a broad range of career-centric activities at the earliest possible age, when students are most open to personal growth and discovery

While strides have been made to close the gender parity gap, today 119 million girls who should be in secondary school are not. Every year, 12 million girls are married before their 18th birthday. And more than 800 women die each day from preventable complications in pregnancy and childbirth. To tackle the challenges facing women and girls, UNICEF is working around the world to advocate for their rights, to help meet their basic needs, and to expand the opportunities available to them.
